Diana Dimitrova is a familiar name to scholars of Hindi Drama and Indic studies. In her earlier works, she explored the canon of Hindi drama through the lens of gender, Hindu religious frame, otherness, and its intersections with western models. In Cultural Identity in Hindi Plays, Dimitrova returns to the subject. This time, to explore the question of cultural identity and how it permeates the realm of Hindi drama. In many ways, this book is a rearticulation of her previous works and positions.
