This book is a part of a project called ‘Literary Activism’ which began, coincidentally like many grand things, in 2014, and got a home at the Centre for the Creative and the Critical at Ashoka University in 2022. The aim of this series sounds not only elitist but also pompous, looking down upon those ordinary chatterboxes who attend literary festivals, book launches, or those dry academics who teach in classrooms, attend conferences and write unreadable monographs. The essays—and there is a long poem too—in the collection offer a variety, some good and interesting while a few trying to say something clever but not quite succeeding.
