Discussions on what is wrong in classrooms and institutions of education are part and parcel of staff-room conversations among teachers. Some reflective teachers take these discussions as trigger points for further exploration through reading and research. However, there are few spaces where books cover a range of issues in education, with a solution focused approach that is positive, but not prescriptive. The author, Viplav Baxi, draws upon his vast experience in the field of educational technology, supplements it with cases of innovation undertaken in various educational institutions, draws from research and explores twelve domains of education in his book, What if Edu. As he says, these questions are ‘starting points for conversations around change’ (p. 9). The book provides alternatives to existing practices but recognizes that these may not be universal solutions.
