Jiske Paas Chali Gai Meri Zameen is a book with a vibrant cover and a heavy title. The book introduces us to a family of farmers (wife, husband, daughter and son) who are enjoying the rains. After the rains, the family can be seen involved in the farming work. The couple are ploughing the field while the children are playing in the fields surrounded by various animals and insects. As the crop grows the father and daughter can be seen around the field and happily enjoying the process. Now the crop is ready to be harvested. The family is celebrating the same by dancing and pooja.

When the next rain arrives, the family have lost their land and the couple is looking at rains from their window. One feels as if they are jailed inside and are left with no reason to enjoy the rain. They talk about all the good things that come with rains and how all of this is for people who have land.
