This beautiful book presents a collection of 66 poems by the noted Hindi poet Prabhat. It doesn’t rain as much in the whole of Rajasthan as it does in the book Pedon ki Amma, neither do the winds blow as much as it blows in Pedon ki Amma. You never see as many clouds floating as you see in the book, and nor are there so many animals anywhere as are in Pedon ki Amma.

It feels as though Prabhat woke up one morning, took in all the sights of the village, and then wrote this book. The weather, the farm and barn, the bushes, carts, animals, children, adults—all are encompassed in the book. As you read, you can feel the farm tracks, the rain, the breeze, sun, dew drops, winter and summer, darkness and light on your way. You sway with the lions and elephants in the jungle, unlock the worlds of ants and spiders with them.
