The book has been visualized beautifully. The illustrations and design actually make the concept even more attractive. It is a wonderful team effort of the author, the illustrator and the designer.

A novel piece of designing which has a centre page that opens up like an accordion, followed by another set of pages. Its soft illustrations and the dotted lines on each page act as a gentle nudge and compel the reader to turn to the next page. A butterfly is constant on each page and apparently poses the title question. It tracks all the animals till it completes a full circle and reaches the elephant again, only to realize that the same pattern of one following the other continues. How does that happen?

A joyful trip to the jungle where even the youngest reader would be imagining parallel stories woven around each of these animals. So it gives you the space to dwell on each page, while being a page-turner! The happy illustrations hint at who might be next by revealing a paw or a tail or some feathers on one page and revealing the identity of the animal on the following page. On every page it arouses the curiosity of the reader by posing the question, ‘_______ ke peechhe kaun ji?’, where the blank space will have a different animal every time. This repetition increases the predictability in script and hence encourages reading for emerging readers. A fun-filled book!
