Books For Beginners

An infocomic! How refreshing! The author, Ariana Abadian-Heifetz has taken the help of a gynecologist to put in valuable information in a menstrual hygiene comic for girls.

This book is one of the best uses of books that I’ve ever seen. 110 pages of colour illustrations by Pia Alize Hazarika is a surefire way to get children interested.

Readers will meet sisters Anjali and Pooja. Both the girls have tons of queries about the changes that their bodies are going through. And for answering the questions the book features a doctor who busts myths and answers questions that adults really do not know how to answer comfortably. Teachers and parents who want to help girls understand puberty can use this book to impart right knowledge in an easy-to-understand way.

The book can be used in health trainings, by teachers and parents and of course by young girls themselves. The book talks about how menstrual hygiene products should be used. It has a DIY section and also busts several myths surrounding menstruation.

The book is a ready reckoner for all those questions about menstruation that you want to ask or even answer. Any adult reading the book will wish they had it when they were children.
