Originally conceived in a series of Facebook posts, Kalyaniyum Dakshayaniyum Ennu Peraya Randu Sthreekalude Katha was published in 2019 in what became R Rajasree’s debut as a novelist in the Malayalam language. In two years, she was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award (2021), among others, indicating the kind of acclaim she has received as a writer. Devika J is herself a much-acclaimed translator of Malayalam writings; so, when you pool the strengths of two of the most talented and important voices today in contemporary Malayalam literature, you have in your hands a book that has great promise.
