The overdose of theory served to the students of literature in the name of engendering critical rigour in research and reading has come under serious scrutiny of late. Already, in the metropolitan academia of the West, the gatekeepers of critical taste are celebrating the return of the narrative in what they term the age of post-theory or life-after-theory.
