This is a new book in Anveshi’s series based on the lives of hitherto marginalized communities. It is a book with two stories. The first, ‘The Mat’ is based on events in a young Muslim boy’s life, and the other, ‘Write Every Day, Ajji’, is set in a Dalit community. They both show a relationship between children and elderly women. Yet they are very different both in style and context. What is significant is that they are both written by members of the same community. They are both, so to say, insider narratives, another hallmark of all of the Anveshi series.
Unfortunately, they do not have an author’s bio, which is very important in a series like this.
