Two siblings, Vivaan and Reha, twins, brother and sister, eager and enterprising on the Gadabada night, slip under the blanket that whirls them into a dark cave, engulfing them in a world of imaginings. Whoosh! it spins them under the bed straight into a dark, damp and deep cave with a Thabaal! Surrounded by magic. Growling bat, Batappa, disturbed in his sleep, scowls as both slide down a rock, slide through a windy tunnel confronting Gyanesh Goat, the quizmaster. Moving into another tunnel the twins face more creatures as they search for Sangeeta sheep to convey Batappa’s message—a song for his beauty sleep. It works and gets for them the magic to reach their bed. All inside the blanket.
A sweet, curious story, full of fun imagination and dreams, a search for wonder and fun. A world of wild inventiveness amidst picturesque scenes and snooping animals with amazing talents paints the fertile storyline.
The pictures done by the author are striking and colourful like the fancy in the story. The imagined characters are familiar and have weird ideas. They are illustrated attractively, making their presence felt in every scene. The gorgeously attired Sangeeta sheep resting herself on a colourful sausage cushion playing the tabla stands out in the imaginary situation. There is a liberal spray of paint colouring the fantastic scenes which is out and out pleasing indeed.
This book promises to be a hit with young readers looking for an amusing and pleasing reading session in a group.
