Artist or poet; poet or artist? Nandita Chaudhuri’s chimerical changeability lies at the heart of Unmasked: Reflections in Brush & Ink that dips into her ability to lend and adapt herself to the challenges of painting, sculpture (and installation), digital art and writing (especially poetry), surprising those such as I previously unexposed to this British-Indian-multi-disciplinarian artist. That she refuses to be tethered to conventionalities becomes apparent when she writes:
I am neither gender
nor a face to behold.
I am neither this nor that.
I am formless, free.
